Lovecraft was first introduced in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" in 1928 ago. According to Lovecraft, Cthulhu is "a monster that is somewhat human, but has a head like an octopus with a face filled with touches, a scaly and elastic looking body, large claws on the front and back legs, and long, thin wings behind."
